Garmin Swim Watch Review

Swim, it’s called swim and has nothing to do with race. It must be said, if you don’t know how to swim maybe you should move on.

Or you should learn, because the pool is an integral part of the preparation of any runner. Because there is a cross-training and winter is a great way to do sports activities parallel to the race. Because it is very difficult to get injured by swimming (unlike football). And because maybe next spring we run a Sprint Triathlon which is awesome and everyone should try it at least once in their lifetime.

Learning to swim is not exercising in swimming. They are very different concepts: training requires repetitive jobs fairly accurate, often with boards made by a coach and focused sessions to improve performance. Precise amount of tubs swim at a precise speed.

If you don’t have a coach out tub that keeps time and distance is not easy to train, especially since after a while can get the hamster effect or that situation in which – continuing to tread the same 25 meters – you lose orientation. Unless…

Unless you are using Garmin Swim.

He can count

The Swim counts the strokes, the repetitions, the time to do a tub, exercise time, distance traveled, the style used. It seems a trivial thing but it is a great help: don’t you worry about nothing if not the athletic movement. At the end of the workout, you connect it to your computer through the interface ANT + and he unloads all of the data to Garmin Connect.

And it is pretty darn accurate, extremely easy to use and very, very pleasing in design for child.

The details that make the difference

An accessory like the Garmin Swim appreciates it even from the little details and understands how much product engineering is in there. In fact there is no rechargeable battery like most Garmin devices, better, you know I won’t let you walk because you forgot to put her in charge. And then you need some power saving features as the display goes off if the arm is stopped or if not wearing one. A strap with safety latch because a clock that loose in water is very irritating. A weight so content and a hairline that almost make you forget to wear it. Even when you work out.

Ultimately

My answer is very simple: If you are a swimmer and you train or you want to improve your preparation, your Garmin Swim is essential.
In other cases it can be a useful tool to measure up. In a decidedly affontabile price: 149 Euro.
