James Bond and His Watches

James Bond is, including of elegance, good taste and style. It is therefore no wonder that clock manufacturers want to associate themselves with him, but which clock is really James Bond’s favorite? Many will probably answer that 007 would naturally wear a Rolex, but his preferences have changed over the ages. Read on and find out which watches you should choose, if you are considering a career as a secret agent.

Rolex Submariner – the original Bond watch

The original James Bond, as he was described in Ian Flemming’s novels, wore a Rolex Submariner. Why the right was a Submariner, there isn’t really anyone know conjecture is that it was because Ian Flemming even owned a Rolex, which sounds plausible. My own theory is that a Submariner is simply the perfect watch for a secret agent. Think about it – a Submariner can cope with all situations can get out of a secret agent. A walk into the sea? No problem. Be elegant with a suit, when Bond baben shall lead astray? Also no problem.

It is believed to be a Rolex Submariner with reference 6538A as Sean Connery wore in the first film, Dr. No, it cannot be established with certainty, what reference, there was talk about out from the images from the movie. In any case, bar a Rolex Submariner James Bond from the first film, Dr. No in 1962 and to The Man with the Golden Gun in 1974.

James Bond, will be digital

In 1977 with The film The Spy Who Loved Me was James Bond updated with the latest developments in digital watches and got handed a gadget packed Seiko 0674, with which he could receive text messages from Headquarters. In 1981, the Agency further sophisticated, there was talk about Seiko H357 model that besides text also could receive calls when M was supposed to issue new order. Up through 80 ´ ies took James Bond diligently the cool digital watches, but it lasted, however, do not know.

Rolex Submariner joining

In 1987 was Bond apparently grown tired of the technological wonders from Seiko. He switched at least back to the well-known Rolex Submariner in the film The Living Daylights. He also kept fixed in Submarineren in the subsequent film License To Kill from 1989, but it was also the last one so to Rolex on the arm of James Bond.

James Bond and Omega

When Pierce Brosnan was driven by James Bond in the film Goldeneye (1995), it was with an Omega watch on his arm. Since Goldeneye have been James Bond’s favorite Omega watch and he has worn a few different models. In Goldeneye bar Bond an Omega Seamaster Professional REF. 2541.80 with quartz. In Tomorrow Never Dies, however, he chose to upgrade and tense an Omega Seamaster Professional REF. 2531.80 with a real mechanical work on the arm. He also wore this watch in the two subsequent films The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day, then Daniel Craig took over the role of James Bond and chose as his favorite Omega Seamaster Planted Ocean watch. Planet Ocean model has since been Bond Agency and it will be enough in the future. Omega has at least turned it wide up to be a supplier to the very James Bond, so it would surprise me if they suddenly decided to stop the sponsorship.

Which clock is so the right Bond watch?

Which clock one associates with James Bond is probably very individually. Personally, I think that the Rolex Submariner is the right watch for James Bond. Firstly, its appearance and aesthetics better suited to a secret agent, which preferably should not arouse too much attention, but at the same time be elegant. Secondly the watch as Ian Flemming Submarineren was selected for its character, so that is why Rolex Submarineren to me like the real James Bond watch. What do you think, which clock stands for you as the real James Bond watch? Share your opinion in the comments box below.
